1) Grassroots Democracy: What are your thoughts on Instant Runoff Voting, and District Elections? How have they worked to date? What would you change in the future?
i believe that instant runoff is ok as long as you have as many choices as candidatesi.e. if there are 7 candidates you have to have 7 chances to rank the candidates otherwise someone choosing 3 of the eliminated candidates does not get a say in the election for that office as the vote is discardeddistrict elections are good in theory but it is still influenced by outside parties. in my district over 1/2 million spent in 2008 in district 1 election. Residents need to say that will only chose a representative based on debates and or a spending cap otherwise most people are not able to make a run against the candidates backed by the two "sides" district elections or not. i have pledged to not exceed $1000 in spending. As mentioned i would have as many choices to rank as candidates.

B) What are your views on housing affordability, what public sector strategies have worked, which have failed, and what are your proposals?
housing affordability is relative ie i want to live in Marina district but it is not affordable for me. There is affordable housing but not what we would consider acceptable. if you want rents to go down you must allow more building of high density housing ie studios in high rise structures. Then supply and demand will find a more reasonable balance. One problem is that we have many students competing for housing and willing to pay higher rents as roommates. This multiplies the problem
