SFGP Local Platform Policy Adopted by the GM 2/18/04 The SFGP will develop a local policy platform, detailing our consensus positions on issues pertaining to SF and the Bay Area. The format would be similar to the GPCA platform (http://cagreens.org/platform/) or USGP platform (http://gp.org/platform/). Working groups will be encouraged (but not required) to work on planks relevant to their work. Planks may also be developed by ad-hoc committees created by the GM for that purpose. When a plank is ready, each will be submitted to the GM as a proposal. Adopting a plank (or amending/deleting existing planks) will be treated as a policy decision and go through the normal consensus process. A review period of at least one month will be allowed between initial presentation of any plank proposal (or amendment) and a final decision, and all proposed language must be made available and as widely dispersed within the SFGP as possible (e.g., on the active list, with printed copies distributed at the GM a month before the decision is made). Printing/distributing copies of the platform will be a separate proposal, which will be developed in cooperation with the Tabling (GROW) WG.
