1) Grassroots Democracy:

A) What are your thoughts on Instant Runoff Voting, and District Elections? How have they worked to date? What would you change in the
future? What about Proportional Representation?

Strongly support both IRV and District Elections with no changes. I don't
see PR happening anytime soon in SF or the US generally.

+ - ?

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Sub-government such as Neighborhood Assemblies,
Networks or District Councils

[+] [ ] [ ] Voters' right to recall elected officials

[ +] [ ] [ ] Residency requirements for elected officials
should be strictly enforced

B) What strategies would you employ to reduce corruption in San Francisco government?

Our city departments need serious oversight reform. I hear from my
neighbors and local business owners that they are frustrated with a lack of
accountability in local government. I support auditing our city departments
and nonprofits that receive taxpayer dollars.

+ - ?

[ ] [ - ] [ ] Ethics Commission should be disbanded

attended.

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Remote public comment at board and committee
meetings

2) Ecological Wisdom: Please outline your view of the major environmental and ecological issues facing San Francisco and your
proposed policies to address them.

Chief among my environmental priorities is working with stakeholders on sea
level rise to ensure that we are prioritizing long term sustainability. I
believe that we must fight to preserve and protect existing housing and the
associated sequestered carbon rather than demolishing our neighborhoods by
loosening demolition controls and rent control protections. I would support
the idea of a significant bond measure in the next year or two to directly
address the costs of stopping climate change, as outlined by our City's
Climate Action Plan.

3) Social Justice:

A) What is your assessment of homelessness in San Francisco, and what solutions do you propose?

It's inexcusable that in a city with a budget of $14 billion dollars we
have not figured out how to supply enough mental health beds, get folks who
desperately need treatment into treatment and hold accountable the agencies
and individuals who are responsible for performing these functions.

I support the City exploring a better conservatorship process. Patients in
the throes of substance use lack the capacity to make rational decisions
due to the coercion of their disease and therefore lack the autonomy to be
able to refuse help. Individuals who consistently decline to participate in
their recovery process, whether due to substance use or mental health
issues, should not be permitted to leave the hospital against medical
advice without a legal release. It's often said that addicts must be an
active participant in their recovery or it won't work. However, the ability
to rationally exercise their rights and self-interest often prohibits them
from understanding the scale of the issue and keeps them from getting the
help they need. Conservatorship until these individuals regain capacity is
essential to their well-being and public health and safety.

Regular updates should be reported to the Homeless Oversight Committee by
the City's Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing. The Committee
should review the status and progress of policies and use reports to create
policy, select service providers and refine the city's programs. We also
need to hold our Mayor and department heads accountable.

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Law against sitting or camping on SF sidewalks

[ ] [ - ] [ ] I support more homeless navigation centers in my
district

B) What are your views on housing affordability, what public sector strategies have worked, which have failed, and what are your proposals?

San Francisco is suffering from a housing affordability crisis. Ample
market rate housing is available across the city with current levels of
vacancy. Many working San Franciscans are simply unable to afford current
market prices. Our City needs to crack the financial feasibility questions
around various types of housing that are affordable to those who cannot
participate in the private market including missing middle and deeply
affordable. Each district has a responsibility to contribute to meeting the
City's housing goals while incorporating community input.

As District 3 Supervisor, I'll prioritize protection and preservation of
existing housing for tenants and homeowners while ensuring the City stays
on track with production by:

1. Partnering with the SF Building Trades to prioritize financial incentives to unstick projects committed to skilled & trained and
prevailing wage requirements

2. Utilizing financing and tax incentives to bring more housing to downtown and Central SOMA

3. Developing an aggressive affordable housing land banking program

4. Investing in the acquisition and rehabilitation of existing multi-unit buildings into affordable housing

5. Returning to Neighborhood Plans like Market Octavia for other areas in the City like the Geary Blvd Corridor, Brotherhood Way and the Railyards.

+ - ?

[ ] [ - ] [ ] Building more market rate housing will lower
housing costs for current SF residents.

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Impacts of all new development should be paid for
in advance by fees on developers

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Community Land Trusts, Housing Co-ops

[ ] [ ----- ] [ ] Rent Control is too strong

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] 10-year waiting period before corporate and
nonresident owners can sell purchased housing properties - can't do this
legally

[ ] [ - ] [ ] Condo conversion is currently too difficult

4) Nonviolence: What are your solutions for SFPD accountability while making the streets safer?

I am the #1 proponent in this race for supporting our public safety
departments and the officers who protect our city. These offices have been
experiencing a staffing crisis for years - affecting their ability to
protect our communities. Public safety jobs have become increasingly more
demanding, leading to even higher turnover. I support Supervisor Dorsey's
efforts to re-establish a minimum police staffing requirement with the goal
of becoming fully staffed (2,182 officers) by 2028. I will support
investing in all of our first responders, skilled trades and healthcare
professionals while demanding accountability from all city departments. It's
important that we appropriately fund these departments to include adequate
trainings, ensure transparency, accountability and oversight.

+ - ?

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Prioritize SFPD enforcement of moving
violations. Depends
on resources.

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Support expansion of foot patrols

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Demand stricter accountability in future MOUs
with the SFPD

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] The Board of Supervisors should be able to set
policies and priorities for the SFPD through legislation Purview of Police
Department, Mayor and Commission

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Support a public safety program modeled after
NYC's "Stop and Frisk" - follow the constitution and state criminal laws

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Prosecution of SFPD officers involved in violent
attacks on, and fatal shooting deaths of, SF residents and visitors. Defer
to the DA and AG, not the role of the BOS.

[ + ] [ ] [ ] End cash bail for nonviolent crimes

[ ] [ - ] [ ] Cut police funding and increase social program
spending, and establish community control of neighborhood policing

5) Decentralization:

A) What are your thoughts on the Kaufman Charter of 1996? Does it need revisiting? Would you support replacing the Strong Mayor system
with commissions where the majority of members are appointed by the
Board of Supervisors, or directly elected?

+ - ?

[ ] [ - ] [ ] Elected Rent Board

[ ] [- ] [ ] Elected Public Utility Board

[ ] [- ] [ ] Bring the Housing Authority under the Board of
Supervisors

[ ] [ - ] [ ] Will you create formal district councils to
advise you?

No, I will meet with neighborhood associations, business
districts, unions, nonprofit organizations and more. These organizations
exist already, are doing and have done the work and want to be involved in
the process. I will take advisement from these groups as they are the
professionals in their areas.

B) The city currently uses non-profits to provide social services. Do you think this is an appropriate model? Why or why not?

Yes, but there needs to be auditing, oversight and analysis of the services
they're providing. Taxpayer dollars should be spent to fund non-profit
programs that show the best results.

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Expand Participatory Budgeting to at least 5% of
the District Budget

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Charter amendment allowing voters to choose the
replacement of an elected official being recalled on the same ballot as the
recall vote

[ ] [ ] [? ] Immediately implement open-source voting system
for SF elections

6) Community Based Economics: What economic policies, including taxation and land use, would you propose that would drive capital into
our communities and keep that capital here for residents?

outlets/chain stores

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Conditional Use permit required for big box
stores

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Municipal broadband as a public utility

[ + ] [ ] [ ] I support recreational marijuana stores opening
in my district

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Local hiring requirements should be enforced and
expanded to include private projects

[ +++ ] [ ] [ ] Strong preference for union jobs

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Conversion of some golf courses into soccer
fields

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Conversion of some golf courses into wild open
space

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Prop 13 limits on tax increases should apply
only to residential properties

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Commercial Rent Control

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Transition all residential and small business
rental

properties into not-for-profit trusts and co-ops

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Vacancy and flipping taxes on local small
business property

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Transaction/Flipping taxes on all asset
speculation to increase city budget

[ + ] [ ] [ ] San Francisco Public Bank by 2027

7) Feminism: Do you believe women are underrepresented in city government? If so, why do you believe this is the case? Is this a
bad thing, and if so, what would you do to remedy the situation?

I believe that the Board of Supervisors, City Staff, and the organizations
that receive tax payer dollars should strive to match the demographic
make-up of our city. Diversity on boards, in elected office, in our city
departments and in our communities is an asset that makes our work better
and our communities stronger.

+ - ?

[ + ] [ ] [ ] The City should help SFUSD provide child care
for children of working parents

[ + ] [ ] [ ] The DPH should provide reproductive health
services to both residents and visitors

[ ] [ - ] [ ] Require parental consent for minors seeking an
abortion

[ ] [ - ] [ ] Require parental notification for minors seeking
an abortion

8) Respect for Diversity: Tell us what you believe are the best and the worst aspects of San Francisco's diversity. How would you try to
protect the best while trying to change the worst?

San Francisco's vibrant, diverse community is part of what makes our City
so great. Affordable housing is a barrier to maintaining that diversity and
ensuring renters are able to stay in their homes. By preserving San
Francisco's affordable housing stock, we can protect existing renters so
living and thriving in our city isn't reserved for the privileged.

+ - ?

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Multilingual government and public education

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Undocumented immigrants should have equal access
to education and health care

[ ] [ - ] [ ] Non-citizen residents should be able to vote in
all local elections

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Full rights for transgender and non-gender-binary
persons

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Boards and commissions now reflect the ethnic
diversity of San Francisco I would need to see a demographic breakdown of
all boards to respond.

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Boards and commissions now reflect the political
diversity of San Francisco I would need to see a political breakdown of all
boards to respond.

[ + ] [ ] [ ] My campaign reflects the diversity of San
Francisco

[ ] [ - ] [ ] End Drag Queen Story Hour and K-12 School
Education on Gender Spectrum Differences

9) Global and Personal Responsibility:

A) What are your thoughts on the Board of Supervisors taking positions on state, national and international issues?

The board taking positions on national and international issues is
symbolic. As far as regarding state issues, the board's position has the
power to put pressure on our state legislators and the Governor.

+ - ?

[ + ] [ ] [ ] City government cooperating with the PATRIOT Act

[ ] [ - ] [ ] City government cooperating with ICE/Secure
Communities

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] City government should boycott Israel until it

power

B) Please describe how you make your political decisions. What is the main basis for your decision making (e.g., consultation with your
constituents, political consultants, colleagues, unions, businesses,
donors, or your gut feelings)?

I will not look to the political winds, camps, or ideologies when making
decisions. I am rooted in organic life experience, including my deep roots
working on the ground in every neighborhood of District 3 with tenants,
homeowners and local businesses - fighting for the City we love.

As Supervisor, I will insist that residents and local businesses are
empowered to participate in decisions for their community. I vehemently
oppose efforts to systematically remove public input from these decisions.

+ - ?

[ + ] [ ] [ ] Fleet Week and the Blue Angels flyover

[ + ] [ ] [ ] JROTC in the public schools

[ ] [ - ] [ ] In a severe recession, environmental
regulations should be suspended to create jobs

[ ] [ ] [ ? ] Business taxes are too high
